New User InfoWelcome to the Dairy Quality Assurance Program and Dairy Quality University, a series of quality assurance efforts which make up a total quality management program. Your decision to enroll in this program demonstrates your commitment to produce the best quality milk and meat products possible for your consumers. Participation in the DQA Program guides you in implementing "Best Management Practices" (BMPs). This will increase herd performance and reduce your costs. Finally, it meets your consumers' demands for quality animal care and certifies you as a quality dairy producer registered with the Dairy Quality Assurance Center, Inc. You may work through these Control Points with a veterinarian. Others may go through the protocol alone and then discuss the key BMPs with their veterinarian. Either way, you have implemented a team approach to management. The result—more profit for your farm from implementing a quality management program. Quality CoursesCurrently there are five courses available in the Dairy Quality University. Each of these courses consist of five to ten Control Points. These Control Points help you discover Best Management Practices you can utilize. The Control Points will identify areas of management that will improve production and profits on your farm. Registering For A CourseYou are required to register for courses offered at Dairy Quality University. Once you register for a specific course, the registration is valid for 30 days.
Audit A CourseWhile you must register to complete a Dairy Quality University course, if you would like to "check out" a class before registering, you may audit one of the Control Points listed below. You will not be able to submit your answers to DQU for credit towards graduation, but all of the definitions and additional information are available for your exploration of this virtual university.
Print A Farm PlanA Farm Plan is an important part of implementing an effective program for your dairy. As you complete a Control Point, check the Farm Plan box for management practices you would like to learn more about. Once you have viewed your Farm Plan, decide which 2 to 4 items you would like to discuss with your herd health veterinarian or dairy consultant and implement on your operation. |
