DQA Best Management Mentoring/Teleconferences

 

“Professionals Helping Professionals”

 

Professional producers learn from each other. The information flow within the heifer profession is enhanced by your participation in The Professionals^SM FIVE-STAR Quality Heifers Program.

 

Two opportunities exist:

 

1. Mentoring
   Option A:
   Based upon the responses you entered on the Raising Quality Replacement Heifers self-audit, we can match you, via the Best Management Practices you may want to implement with someone who is using these practices. The two managers (you and your match) can take this as far and as long as you like. Individuals cover their own phone costs. Your mentor may be from anywhere in the United States. Enroll in "The Professionals" or update your preferences if already enrolled.
   
   Option B:
   Here you are the leader. Your experience implementing one or more of the best management practices can be valuable to another calf or heifer grower. If you are willing to mentor, enroll in "The Professionals" or update your preferences if already enrolled.

 

2. Teleconferences
    
   Here a DQA session leader is designated. He or she arranges an expert to be “on-line” with a group (4-5) of producers with similar interests (size, length of time as a heifer raiser, etc.), or the teleconference can be built around a specific Best Management Practice such as handling wet calves, etc.  (Yes, contact me about joining a teleconference.) A specific time such as 90 minutes is designated and a date is set. Meetings usually start in the evening, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. We will watch time zones of the participants. You pay for your own phone; the DQA Center pays to set up the call site.
