1. Professional nutritionist or equipment technician can easily respond to milk producer’s interest in the DQA FIVE-STAR^SM Program by providing brochures and reviewing key points.

2. To initiate interest, approach your best clients, those with neat facilities and a real sense of pride in being a food producer.

3. Obtain “Premium” (Introductory) level DQA Walk-Through form by contacting the DQA Center.

4. Review each Indicator of Quality on the DQA Walk-Through form. (Call the friendly staff a the DQA Center if you have any questions).

5. Score and discuss each “Indicator of Quality” with the milk producer.

6. Total the scores and review rating. (THREE, FOUR, or FIVE-STAR^SM status)

7. THREE or FOUR-STAR^SM dairies may want to implement changes before submitting the scores to the DQA Center.

8. Submit results to the DQA Center.
